About Adrian & Emma-Jean

Adrian & Emma-Jean Galliard are a father-daughter singing duo based in Johannesburg, South Africa.  While they’ve been singing professionally for quite a while, in 2020, they shot to internet fame after videos of them singing The Prayer & Time To Say Goodbye went viral, leading to them being mistaken for the son & granddaughter of Andrea Boccelli. 

Adrian is a classically trained singer & songwriter who studied drama at The University of the Witwatersrand and sang with renowned vocal coach Sarie Lamprecht.  He has also appeared in several professional musical theatre productions, including Annie, Joseph, and his Technicolor Dreamcoat and A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to The Forum.  

12-year-old Emma-Jean, is a talented singer, diver & actress.  Emma-Jean’s achievements include appearing in several TV commercials and a TV show, I Am a Work of Art, about gifted kids.  Emma has always loved music, and even as a baby, she would hum or sing along to any music she heard.  She often sings in church and family gatherings with her dad, big brother, uncle, and cousins. 

After South Africa was placed into lockdown, Emma-Jean and Adrian decided to record a version of The Prayer to send to the family and friends they would not be able to see on Easter Sunday.  The video was uploaded to Facebook just before lunch, and by the end of the day, it had 17 000 views. 

A few days later, it was picked up by UK Facebook Page, The Music Man, and it quickly climbed to 6 million views.  Adrian & Emma-Jean Music was born, and the pair soon scrambled to set up a Facebook page & Youtube channel to continue their musical journey.

In mid-2020, their rendition of the Andrea Bocelli / Sarah Brightman classic, Time to Say Goodbye, went viral on a Columbian Facebook page Prensa Ginebra, which falsely claimed that Adrian & Emma-Jean were the son & grand-daughter of Andrea Bocelli.  Before the pair could refute the allegations, the video had had 15 million views. 

The duo has attracted a substantial social media following in the last two years, including 56 000 subscribers on Youtube & 77 000 followers on Facebook.  After repeated requests for an album from the fan base, the pair released their debut album, Just Duet, in October 2021.

Adrian & Emma-Jean have been interviewed on 702, Chai-FM, Hot 102,7, and several South American & British Radio Stations.  They have been featured in The Sunday Times and the Rapport and have appeared on The Devi Show and Voice of America.

They are currently rehearsing for a musical theatre show, Music of the Night – one composer, many lyricists, which opens on the 24th of February 2022.  Music of the Night will be a unique take on the musical numbers instantly recognizable from the lyricists audiences know and love, including Sir Tim Rice, Don Black, Sir Richard Stilgoe, Charles Hart, Glenn Slater, and others, with fresh new arrangements ideally suited for the talented cast.  Centurion Theatre kickstarts the Music of the Night tour, with Johannesburg following in March and other cities around South Africa currently being finalized.
