2014 was a rollercoaster of a year for me and I'm so excited to take everything I learned to the next level with help from Rocket Fuel and, of course, you.

Reaching the Live and Unsigned and Teen Star finals performing at the O2 Arena in London and getting to the knockouts round of The Voice UK were all absolutely amazing experiences. They have not only helped me with my confidence, but made me able to help others who have the same dreams as me. I have learned a lot about the music business and working with both Rita Ora and Ricky Wilson was the most incredible thing I have ever done and to get advice from both of them is unreal! Most importantly, however, the time I spent on each competition strengthened my passion for performing and made me want a career in music even more.

About Olivia Lawson

Olivia Lawson is a singer/songwriter from Sunderland in the North East of England. Having performed at the O2 Arena in London for the Live and Unsigned and Teenstar finals, Olivia has been successful in some of the biggest singing competitions in the UK, including Open Mic UK and The Voice. Despite being inspired by many artists, Olivia puts her own unique spin on her music and doesn’t conform to any particular genre. Olivia currently works two part time jobs to pay for her music lessons and, as a talented pianist, she began writing her own music at the age of 12.

In 2014, global superstars Rita Ora, Ricky Wilson and Will.I.Am all fell in love with Olivia’s “beautiful voice” when she sang an enchanting version of Nirvana’s ‘Smell’s Like Teen Spirit’ in The Voice UK blind auditions. Will.I.Am (The Black Eyes Peas) described her performance as “unique, hypnotic [and] awesome”, but it was joining the team of pop princess Rita Ora that sparked her adventure on the hit TV show. Olivia went on to be stolen by frontman Ricky Wilson (The Kaiser Chiefs) in the battle rounds, meaning that she has worked with and received advice from two of the biggest artists in the UK.

Olivia is currently working on her debut EP ‘Tough Luck’ which will be released later in the year.
