About Graham & Yvonne Ballard

Graham and Yvonne Ballard currently live in Amesbury near to  Stonehenge but were both born in Oxfordshire and grew up with differing musical influences.

Yvonne picked up a cornet at the age of seven after a local brass band visited the school. She started on cornet but soon progressed to what became her favourite instrument, the euphonium. She successfully worked her way through to grade eight and gained considerable knowledge by attending many Brass Band Summer Schools. Yvonne performed in many fetes, concerts and contests, with a variety of brass bands during this time. Her focus has shifted somewhat and she now has a renewed passion to sing and branch out, recently beginning to learn acoustic guitar. 

Graham started his musical life involved in choirs at school and performed in a local Amateur Dramatic Society. He tried the trombone as a boy but it was the keyboard that he favoured most of his adult life. He played in a few rock bands whilst in the Army, but it was only at aged 31 that he took music more seriously  learning to read it more proficiently taking up the the cornet and joining the same band as Yvonne. He plays a variety of other instruments predominantly piano and  loves recording them in the home studio.

Graham and Yvonne married in 2006 and were already part of a local church where they became members of the worship team and played and sang together. It was here that they began to write Christian songs more for personal worship than for a congregation or wider audience at that time.

Fast forward to 2019 and an introduction to Homegrown Worship led on to a collaboration with Andy Baker who recorded and produced their first ever song. This in turn opened up an opportunity to engage in a Psalmist and Songwriting course in early 2020 where they learned the craft of writing more effectively.

So with an increasing repertoire of music waiting to be recorded, both Graham and Yvonne would love the opportunity to record and share them with you! 

Oh.... and one more thing...because of their surname Mr & Mrs ‘B' and their love of  all things ‘bees’,  you will find a theme currently running throughout the site and in some of the products........sweet!!  :-)
