Satirical singer-songwriter, Chris Tavener is ready to release his very first studio album, followed by a UK-wide tour. A huge talent in the world of witty rock music, Tavener is a 5-star reviewed act at the Edinburgh Fringe and has written songs that have been sung by household names, including Sir Ian McKellen.
He's been the warm up act for the likes of Kyle Gass (Tenacious D), Super Hans (Peep Show), Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq, Ed Tudor Pole and John Otway; with his whimsical storytelling songs featured on BBC 6 Music and at Glastonbury Festival

In 2026, I'm ready to release my first ever studio album 'Music is a Serious Business'! I'm so proud of this record, it's been my biggest creative focus for the longest time and every song on it has earned its place through live shows.
The album has been three years in the making, primarily for budget reasons. A lot of hard work, time and my own gig money has enabled me to record it, but I'm now out of funds. Facing having to spend almost the same again to produce the finished article. If I'm going to release this album on CD and vinyl, I'm going to need your help.
This crowdfunder is essentially a pre-order page to help me get over that final hurdle - that last big push to get this release out into the world.
