About Ayobola Elegbede

Influenced by an undergraduate dad, whose love for music was contagious and a mum, whose whole being was bubbly and captivating, I've always been one with a heart and ears for music even from childhood.

My encounter with gospel music however started as a teenager, while attending Comprehensive High School (Compro), Aiyetoro. Ogun State, Nigeria. As a member of the Christian fellowship at Compro, I joined the fellowship choir while attending Compro.

After completing secondary education, I joined the Dominion Faith Int'l church, Ipaja, Lagos serving as a member of the choir as well as a praise and worship leader. While studying at the University of Jos, I also became a member of the choir and of the praise and worship team of the Gateway Christian Church, Jos. I continued to serve in both ministries until relocating to Germany. As customary, I again joined the choir of the Lighthouse Fellowship in Mulheim, Germany.

It was in Germany that the Holy Spirit began to develop in me the ability to hear and to write inspirational songs. My years of involvement with various genres of music and my passion for gospel music has not only helped me as a songwriter and singer; this combination has also given the opportunity to perform at benefit concerts in Germany, in which much needed fund was raised for needy children.

The single “Praise Him” is one of the many songs that the Holy Spirit began to minister to me in Germany. While sojourning in Germany, I experienced strange things hard to handle, but the Lord kept me. When it seemed I couldn’t make it through, God refocused my attention from myself unto the beauty of His holiness and majesty; His splendor and sovereignty. He gave me songs of joy, of hope, of love and praise to His name.

So I praise Him and share all He has given me with others, so they may also experience His joy, hope and love and praise Him too.
