Running A Successful Mission - Top Tips from Chloe Reynolds
Chloe Reynolds began her Rocket Fuel journey in November 2014, achieving her first goal within one week of the launch! She has raised over £2700 in total for three different goals so far and is aiming to release a full album in the near future. We caught up with Chloe to discover the secrets behind her success and her top tips for Rocket Fuel artists.
--------------------------------
J: When did you launch your Rocket Fuel mission?
C: I first started with Rocket fuel last November and achieved my first goal in a week!
J: How did you go about recording your video pitch?
C: I recorded the video pitch with the Rocket Fuel team in Sheffield. They made it really easy for me to relax and not feel nervous, and have used some really creative ideas to make it look good.
J: What would you say are your best-selling products?
C: Best selling products for me have been things with a personal touch. Handmade items such as handwritten lyrics and notebooks sell really well. I have found that people are happy to part with their money if they feel they are getting something a bit special in return. Anyone can buy a CD, but only a few special supporters will be able to buy something handmade and unique from their favourite artists.
J: What are your top tips for engaging your fanbase?
C: I had a big response from some of the experiences on offer on my Rocket Fuel page. People who want to be involved in the process can be given the opportunity to visit the studio, have a meal with the band (not solo artists for safety reasons) etc. They are then a fully engaged fan because they have had involvement in the fundraising process and want to see it be a success!
J: How has Rocket Fuel helped you as an artist?
C: Rocket Fuel has helped me not only to be able to do some more recording, but it's also encouraged me that I am supported by my fanbase. Even if they're sometimes quite quiet, they're there when it counts.
J: Do you have any other tips for newer Rocket Fuel artists?
C: Consider how much each product is going to cost you before pricing it. For example, if you're raising £1,000 to record a new single, but £400 of that is spent on products and postage, then you won't be left with enough. It's worth considering this so that you can adjust your goal before launching.
