Artist in the Spotlight Jordan Adams
As Jordan Adams has been doing such a great job promoting his mission we have decided to get his perspective on how to get the most out of Rocket Fuel.
Edie from the Rocketfuel team caught up with him:
Why did you decide to use Rocket Fuel to fund the development of your career?
"The last year has been an amazing journey for me! Reaching the Grand Final of Open Mic UK has really driven my desire to relaunch my music career. I chose Rocket Fuel to help fund this change of direction as it is a great multi-platform that engages supporters on many different levels - from products to rewards to donations. The site is very professional in design and is easy to navigate. This is incredibly important as first impressions really do count. The site is very user friendly and a great way for people to become involved in my musical journey!"
You started your first mission on the 13th Feb 2015. How did you get people’s attention early on?
I already have a small fan base that were very interested in my development as an artist, so engaging people that really have a vested interest in me was the first step to launching a successful campaign! Classical cross-over music is very niche in its nature and by using my musical theater background it was easy to find people that were interested in my genre of music.
What has worked best in getting people to support you financially?
The Live Lounge Tour has been a great success as it is a simple concept yet unique and intimate. It seems to have really captured the imagination... "Jordan Adams singing hits from the west end and musicals LIVE in your Lounge! " Having a targeted audience is key!
You've posted consistenly on social media to gather momentum and it seems to have really paid off - what other advice would you offer to other artists that are hoping to reach their goals?
I would say that you need to understand your audience and be very specific when it comes down to who will really appreciate your music. I would rather sing to 10 people and keep their attention than to a 100 people when 90% of people them aren't listening! Give value for money! Be professional and engaging with your audience at all times. They want to see a Star so give them Star quality!
Do you have any upcoming shows?
I have only just started to gig outside of being involved in Musical Theatre. Shows that are paid for come from my Live Lounge Tour. However to raise my profile I am performing as the King in the King and I at the Lichfield Garrick Theatre from 21st -25th April. Sometimes it is difficult to say thank you to everyone who supports me so I pass on the strength and encouragement given to me by my supporters to others less fortunate by helping raise money for charities through my performance.
